Choose your programme type

Software Architecture & Development

  • This course is a full-time programme and you can graduate in three years.
  • You will earn 180 credits, spread over three phases.
  • Your classes are organised during the week as daytime classes.
  • Combine your bachelor’s thesis with an internship at a company or organisation in Belgium or abroad.
  • Start this 6-semester programme in September.

Programme

  • Phase 1 | In the first phase, we lay a solid foundation. You’ll learn several programming languages, set up a simple network and take your first steps into the world of security. In the second semester, you’ll get to work independently and can really let your creativity run wild on a project of your own choosing.
  • Phase 2 | In the Application Development specialisation, you’ll be immersed in the world of programming and learn to create and test reliable applications. During the Practice Enterprise 2 module, you’ll spend several months working on a project of your choice.
  • Phase 3 | In phase 3, you’ll learn to build applications for the main platforms and how to make the most of multi-core and/or GPU processing systems. This course will turn you into a flexible and sought-after ‘Young ICT professional’. 

Below you can find an overview of the courses ( under reservation of changes), with the number of credits per phase. Credits express how many hours you need on average to process the subject matter (incl. lessons). Count about 25 to 30 hours for 1 study credit.

Engineering and technology – that’s what we’re good at! So, with us, there are no separate science or language modules. This means you’ll learn straight away how to link theory to practice. 

In practice

Watch yourself progress from simple ICT software and systems projects in phase 1 to real-life team projects and a hyper-realistic assignment in phase 2. You’ll have a full spectrum of tools available to set up a complete array of ICT infrastructure under the expert guidance of our experienced lecturers.

Your final semester will be dedicated to your internship and bachelor's thesis at one of our partner companies in Flanders or abroad. Your chance to bring all your skills together and apply them under the supervision of one or more company employees and your dedicated university supervisor.
