How can your own data help you stay healthy? At the inspiration day “Secure data sharing as a driver for preventive health”, more than 100 participants learned how powerful secure data sharing can be for prevention.
An event, hosted at Thomas More University of Applied Sciences, presented the results of SOLID4HEALTH (link in Dutch only). Four real-world cases were presented:
These examples demonstrated how secure data sharing can make preventive health smarter, more personal, and more effective and how citizens can use their data to proactively manage their health. The attendees also explored SOLID technology: a personal data vault where you can store, manage, and view all your data in one place, giving individuals full ownership and control over their health data.
An interactive panel discussion kept the audience fully engaged through live polling. 96% of the participants expressed the interest to use a personal data vault.
The day concluded with a keynote by Prof. Dr. Dominique Vandijck, health economist at Ghent University. He emphasized the importance of shifting our healthcare system toward smart prevention, while only a small portion of the health budget currently goes to preventive care. His insights showed a clear sense of urgency. Participants expressed their intention to take more action regarding their own health. Technology like SOLID can play an important role in this.
The inspiration day was organized in collaboration with VITO (Flemish Institute for Technological Research) as the closing event of the TETRA project (Applied Research Program for Technological Innovation) SOLID4HEALTH, with financial support from VLAIO (Flemish Agency for Innovation and Entrepreneurship).
