LiCalab plays an active role within the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL). As a co-organiser of OpenLivingLab Days 2026, LiCalab is helping shape the annual global gathering for the Living Lab community. Tickets are now available, and you can also take the opportunity to come and meet us during an inspiring field visit at Thomas More University of Applied Sciences in Geel on 2 October.
LiCalab is a co-organiser of the OpenLivingLab Days 2026. This international event brings together Living Labs, researchers, businesses, policymakers, and public organisations to exchange experiences and foster new collaborations. The 2026 edition will take place from 29 September to 2 October in Brussels and Antwerp under the theme “Living Labs Impacts and Values for a Changing World.” LiCalab contributes to the programme development and brings its extensive expertise in healthcare, well-being, and co-creation to the event.
Registration for OpenLivingLab Days is now open. The event offers a unique opportunity to explore international Living Lab practices, participate in workshops and panel discussions, and connect with peers from across Europe and beyond.
On 2 October, LiCalab will host a field visit at the Thomas More campus in Geel. Participants will travel by bus from Antwerp and enjoy a guided tour of several expertise centres.
The programme includes visits to the infrastructure of the research departments LiCalab, Mobilab & Care, Sustainable Biomass & Chemistry and Energy.
Participants will discover a wide range of innovative facilities and infrastructures, including: LiCalab’s co-creation lab, the gait analysis labs, robotics for orthotics and prosthetics, wearable technologies, virtual reality (VR) applications and monitoring technologies and facilities for insect farming, algae cultivation, and greenhouse cultivation.
