Hannelore Stegen
Loneliness researcher with an interest in people’s life stories, always curious about the ‘why’.
Hannelore Stegen is a researcher and process facilitator at the Expertise Center for Care and Well-Being, in the research group Mobilab & Care. In 2020, she started her PhD at VUB (SARLab) on childlessness and loneliness in later life, with the support of the FWO (Research Foundation - Flanders).
She successfully completed that PhD, which combined quantitative (surveys) and qualitative (life story interviews) research methods, in October 2024. She now works within Mobilab & Care on themes such as loneliness, caring neighborhoods, and informal care
