Jelle Van Camp

Sustainable Business and Digital Innovation

Jelle supports several research projects in the technical and financial feasibility of innovations, with a focus on ROI and new revenue models. He is also interested in sustainability and circularity in particular.

About Jelle

Jelle Van Camp is a researcher at Thomas More University of Applied Sciences at the expertise center for Sustainable Business and Digital Innovation, in the research theme Digital and Sustainable Business. His current research focuses on sustainable and circular business models. In addition, he supports several research projects (including TETRA projects) with economic analyses: cost-benefit analysis and new revenue models. He also builds ROI calculators for these projects in collaboration with early adopters and technical partners. His last two projects focused on immersive training (VR) and chatbots. He is currently looking at: the feasibility of AI-supported applications within healthcare logistics.

As a teacher he teaches two courses within the postgraduate entrepreneurship. Jelle obtained a PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp in 2017. His research focused on project selection and efficient resource allocation. As a fellowship assistant, he guided more than 100 students in their entrepreneurial ambitions and reviewed at least as many business plans. He was also one of the founders of BAAS (an entrepreneurship platform for young people) and was a jury member and coach for this platform, for KBC Start-IT and BRYO (VOKA).
