'VR Photoscan' is a 5-step process, designed to seamlessly integrate VR technology within routine clinical practice while focusing on needs of both staff and clients. This novel approach empowers clinicians to capture and create personalised VR environments using technology they are already familiar with, such as mobile phone cameras and desktop computers and integrating them into pre-existing (well-evidenced) PTSD treatment protocols. Real world images of scenes where the trauma took place are sculpted into a 3D environment and scenes are adapted and personalised using a range of pre-built 3D assets to cater to individual needs e.g., background imagery of the street where the trauma occurred will be taken and then 3D assets of cars, people, sounds will be added using the asset library. This will then be used in place of traditional imaginal exposure techniques that are frequently used within Trauma-Focused CBT.
