What?

Many people encounter digital barriers. Even when you have access to a device and knowledge of apps, there can still exist obstacles because the person has limited skills, a limited language proficiency or poor vision. There are dozens of tools, settings and other free solutions that can support and compensate for these limited skills. These solutions are usually developed for people with disabilities but can be used by a much broader audience. In this project:

We investigate:

  • What the most common problems of these end users are.
  • How digi-helpers and end users prefer to receive these solutions, for example, through PDF manuals, instructional videos, or other media.

Based on that, we select about ten solutions that we use to:

  • Develop clear manuals tailored to the needs and capabilities of different target groups.
  • Raise awareness about these kinds of solutions. These tools serve as examples and are accompanied by references to many other possible solutions, for which one can turn to Expert Network Modem, for example.
  • Provide training around these tools.

Our role?

Digitale Drempels Doen Dalen is supported by the Modem team, part of Mobilab & Care. Modem has been monitoring developments in digital accessibility for many years. Within this project, we are making this knowledge accessible to a wider audience.

Relevance?

Reducing digital barriers thanks to accessibility solutions for the widest possible audience.
