General Terms

These terms and conditions apply to the Thomas More website, accessible at www.thomasmore.be, and all other websites, sub-sites, and web pages currently or subsequently developed by Thomas More. By accessing or using any Thomas More website, you acknowledge and explicitly agree to these terms of use. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please refrain from using the website.

The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision within these terms of use shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions.

Access to and Use of the Website 

Thomas More makes every effort to ensure access to the website at all times, to the extent possible, without any guarantee in this regard. However, this access can always be interrupted by Thomas More for any reason whatsoever and without prior notice or justification. 

The user is responsible for the proper functioning of their computer system and internet access. The user expressly undertakes not to disrupt the optimal operation and security of the website, for example, by using viruses and/or other harmful files or data and/or by accessing files or data to which they do not have access. 

Thomas More always reserves the right to unilaterally and without prior notice or justification, deny a user access to the website in whole or in part. The user cannot hold Thomas More liable in any way for this. The user is prohibited from supplementing, changing, deleting, replacing and/or improving the information that Thomas More makes available on the website, in part or in its entirety.

Guarantees and Liability 

The website is intended to provide general information about Thomas More. It is not adapted to personal or specific circumstances and therefore cannot be considered as personal, professional, legal advice or an equivalent thereof to the user. 

Although Thomas More makes efforts to provide information that it believes is current and accurate, Thomas More does not guarantee that all information is adequate, accurate and complete, nor that the website is comprehensive. 
In no event can Thomas More be held liable for direct or indirect damage that may arise from: a) consulting and/or using the information offered on the website or websites to which this website refers or b) the absence of specific information. However, Thomas More is never responsible for, and cannot be held to investigate, evaluate or provide any guarantees regarding the content of these websites. Thomas More can therefore in no way be held liable for direct or indirect damage caused by consulting and/or using the information offered on the aforementioned websites.

The user is prohibited from placing links to the Thomas More website without having obtained the prior written permission from Thomas More. 

If Thomas More has to bear costs or if costs are imposed on Thomas More as a result of misuse of this website or a violation of these terms of use by the user, the user undertakes to indemnify Thomas More for all costs, claims, loss and damage (including legal costs).

Intellectual Property Rights 

The user has the right to consult the information on the website (including, among other things, editorial material, informative texts, photos, illustrations, drawings and other graphic material, names, logos, trademarks and 1  other marks) and to download and reproduce it solely for personal use, provided that the user mentions the source, in accordance with the provisions of the law of June 30, 1994, concerning copyright and neighboring rights.

However, this permission does not apply to texts where a restriction of use is explicitly mentioned. The reproduction or use of multimedia information (sound, images, software, etc.) always requires prior written permission from Thomas More. Under no circumstances may the user use the content of the website for commercial purposes, nor distribute or communicate it to third parties, whether for profit or not, without the prior express written permission of Thomas More. 

Thomas More reserves all current and future intellectual property rights to the website itself and to the information made available.

Applicable Law and Competent Court 

All disputes related to or arising from the use of the website, as well as from the application and interpretation of these terms of use, are governed by Belgian law, with the courts of the judicial district of Mechelen having exclusive jurisdiction.
