Slimme sensoren in de zorg

Sensors in residential care home with fall, wander and scream detection

Goal

The smart sensor monitors the behaviour of the residents and generates an alarm when a dangerous situation arises for the patient. The smart sensor can be set per room and personalised according to the wishes of the care institution.

Only when the sensor detects an incident, sounds and/or images will be sent to the care call system via the data network. The caregiver can activate the camera via an app on the smartphone and visually assess the situation.

Wandering and falling incidents are prevented because the caregiver can intervene quickly and reassure the resident. The same applies to undesirable behaviour such as urinating in public. Preventive intervention in such situations clearly saves time, which can be used for interventions that are necessary for the comfort of the resident (changing positions, changing clothes…). The smart sensor also leads to a better night's rest and sleep quality. The resident is not woken up if this is not necessary.
