Studying with specific needs in an inclusive environment
To guarantee equal opportunities for successful studies to everyone, some students can get facilities for their classes, internships and exams. Students who are top athletes, students with a disability, artists and student entrepreneurs come into consideration. We assess the specific needs and check what is possible for each individual student. The procedure and conditions vary depending on the reason why you apply for a facility.
Inclusive approach
Thomas More wants to be accessible for all students. Therefore we offer some inclusive measurements applicable to every student, such as an inclusive examination time of 25%, the use of simple ear plugs, the use of scrap paper …
On top of this, each study programme has an inclusion coordinator. This person is your go-to in case of diversity, inclusion, accessible education and individual tailored support.
Here are some situations in which you can contact your inclusion coordinator:
- When you experience any kind of hurdle to participate in your study programme.
- When you are entitled to a special status or reasonable adjustments (e.g. disability, top-class sports, caretaker, non-native speaker, studying and working, entrepreneur, student representative)
- When you are troubled about micro aggression, discrimination or racism. If you want to report it, use these channels.
- When you have questions about religion and your study programme.
- When you have suggestions about accessibility or inclusive higher education.
