Goal

Being hospitalised for a stroke leaves a big impression on the patient. It also has a great impact on the near family. In the hospital, patients receive a lot of information about their medication and rehabilitation. But because of the impact of the stroke, not everything is properly understood and remembered.

The hospital of Geel has therefore developed a digital platform in which all the information is available in a clear and structured manner. And this is tailored to the patient: depending on the type of stroke, the type of medication, other conditions of the patient… certain blocks of information are shown or hidden. Patients can search for specific information about their own condition and medication at their own pace and in their own time. Via the platform, the patient can also ask questions to the nurse. In this way, the hospital can also monitor the patient from a distance.
