Wrong medicine usage costs between 17,000 and 20,000 lives in the Netherlands alone. In addition, approximately 41,000 people are taken to hospital for emergency care by wrong drug use.
New developments and e-health applications such as ZIN check significantly contribute to cost savings and peace of mind of the patient's network. The (proper) deployment of automatic drug dispensers, for which no internet knowledge is required from the patient, often requires a complex organization / preparation involving many disciplines from the care process. The costs associated with this - and therefore the threshold to start with it - are very high. Therefore, its use is also relatively low.
Zinnovators want to make changes with ZIN check (currently developed to TRL level 5). They do that by using existing equipment that's already known and already carried by users: the mobile personal alarm.
