Once you have been admitted/accepted to a study programme at Thomas More and, like all incoming new students with non-EEA nationality, you are obliged by Belgian law to provide evidence of sufficient financial means to cover your study and living expenses for the duration of the studies.
Moreover, the proof of sufficient funds is an essential condition to obtain an Authorisation for Provisional Sojourn as a student (student visa type D) for living and studying in Belgium.
The blocked account implies that you choose to transfer the appropriate amount of money to the bank account of Thomas More, that will in turn forward this amount on a monthly basis to your personal Belgian bank account in Belgium.
Sponsorship (annexe 32) is only accepted by Thomas More if the sponsor is a first degree relative (proven by birth certificate).
