The health care and welfare sector are in transformation. The demand for (health) care is increasing and shifting from acute, short-term care to chronic, long-term (home) care. The care providers of tomorrow will work more often with high-tech and digital tools. This trend requires different competencies.
Mobilab & Care is involved in the development of the 3D prototyping training within the sub-theme ‘technology in care’. We want to inform, define and take away the fear that technology will take over the job. At the same time, we need to be aware of the impact of digitalization, informatization and robotization on the current jobs of care providers.
There is a real need to develop additional digital skills and abilities. These new competencies entail that the care provider needs to develop different communication skills towards the patient.
Together with our partners KU Leuven and BBOT, we will organize a training on 3D modelling & prototyping with a focus on orthopedic devices.
