His research interests are mainly focused on instrumentation for bio-medical devices and smart embedded systems.

About Patrick

Patrick obtained a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Group T Leuven in 1986. In 1991, he became a teaching assistant at GROUP T and in 1995 he became a lecturer at the then University College for Science & Arts (W&K) Campus NaRaFi Brussels and Campus de Nayer Sint-Katelijne-Waver.

Patrick founded the EmSys (Embedded Systems) research group at W&K in 2002 and coordinates the current Smart Tech & IT research group at Thomas More Mechelen campus de Nayer. Patrick joined the MICAS research group as a part-time research assistant, under the supervision of Prof R. Puers, in the run-up to obtaining a PhD in Electrical Engineering.

His research interests are mainly focused on instrumentation for bio-medical devices and smart embedded systems. He is currently working on an implantable embedded system for orthopaedic and ophthalmic applications.
