Study cost-optimum new construction residential

Most cost-optimal investment for your new construction home

Date

From until

What is the most cost-optimal investment you can make for your new home when you take into account various boundary conditions such as investment costs and energy costs? Based on various studies that we carried out for VEKA (Flemish Energy and Climate Agency), the Centre of Expertise Energy tried to find an answer to this question.

Goal

The Flemish Energy and Climate Agency (VEKA) regularly commissions studies when they implement and evaluate new energy performance regulations.

We specialise in studies on cost-optimal (energy) investments in residential buildings. These studies were therefore assigned to us.

The results of these studies were used by VEKA, among other things, to determine how they could tighten the requirements for new residential buildings, trough the EPB regulations.

Results

We conducted the following studies. The corresponding reports can be found here.

  • Study cost-optimum new residential construction (2022)
  • Analysis feasibility study tightening to S28: policy support study based on actual dossiers submitted (2020)
  • Study Feasibility study EPB requirements for residential new construction: verification calculations of BEN level on 50 dwellings (2017)
  • Study Cost-optimal EPB requirements for residential buildings: update of the 2012 study (2014-2015)
  • Cost-optimal EPB requirements (2012-2013)
