Wendy de Vaal is a researcher in the People and Well-being research group, research line Prevention and empowerment. Her focus is currently on “Samen aan Z,” an Interreg Flanders-Netherlands research project.
Wendy de Vaal holds an MSc in Medical Social Sciences and a bachelor in Nursing. Since 2009 she works at Thomas More Hogeschool as a teacher, internship supervisor and international coordinator. From 2023, she combines her work as a lecturer and internship supervisor at the Nursing program in Mechelen with a research assignment at the Human and Wellbeing research group.
Before starting at Thomas More Hogeschool, Wendy worked for several years as a mental health nurse, was a researcher at Ghent University and head nurse of the mental health department in a general hospital.
