    You must be studying at one of our partner institutions. You must be nominated by your home coordinator and accepted by the exchange programme at Thomas More (see admission procedure for exchange students).

    • Currently enrolled in a level 6 (bachelor’s/master’s) degree program at one of our partner institutions.
    • You must be studying at one of our partner institutions.
      Exchange Students from partner universities where both schools have signed an Inter-Institutional Agreement (IIA) or Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for this field of study don't have to pay tuition fees.
    • Field of study at your home institution: Communication & Media and/or Media Management
    • An intake interview with the Erasmus coordinator/the Programme coordinator
    • Autumn semester: Preferably 2nd or 3rd year students (60 ECTS before arrival)
    • Spring semester: Preferably 3rd or 4th year students (120 ECTS before arrival)
    • Language requirements ; English B2
  • Language requirements

    Students are required to upload proof of B2 language proficiency. Accepted certificates include the Erasmus+ OLS language test, Duolingo or other official and internationally recognized test results.

Programme

Media and Entertainment Business is the most entrepreneurial media program in Flanders.  Surrounded with experts who have a background in the media entertainment industry, students are provided with the necessary skills to assess the viability of their media entertainment product: a good story (Mediatise), economic viability (Monetise) and a loyal public (Mobilise).

Students immerse themselves into the international media world and are trained to work with existing or new media products and repurpose/package them for a new international context.

The academic year in a nutshell

To ensure a smooth start of your exchange semester, attendance is mandatory throughout the entire exchange period, including the Orientation days.
Late arrivals may result in exclusion from the program.

Below you can find an overview of the courses (under reservation of changes), with the number of credits per course. Credits express how many hours you need on average to process the subject matter (incl. lessons). Count about 25 to 30 hours for 1 study credit. 

  • We have explained the most important courses in a blue tooltip.  
  • The combination of courses can be restricted by planning issues and needs to be communicated beforehand.
  • Courses marked with a * are offered fully online. This means you don't have to physically come to Belgium to take these courses.
  • The combination of courses can be restricted by planning issues; changes to your Learning Agreement are therefore still possible after arrival.

  • ! At our ProMediaLab service (PML) you can borrow professional audio-visual equipment; material you need for some of the course(s) in this program. Each student financially contributes to this service. (for your reference: in 23-24: between 50 and 80 euro) The cost is mentioned under the section course material in the course description (ECTS file). By adding the course to your study program, you agree with the cost involved.

  • Integrated, performance-based, project-based exams are organized every 8 weeks during a module (therefore, two times). Any students who fails may return in the 3rd exam period to redo the integrated exams.
  • Always on (elective) courses have exams in January and in June.
  • The modalities to re-take an exam (online, on campus, dates,…) differ per course. Please consult the programme guide for more information.

Eyecatchers

Pro Media Lab

The Pro Media Lab offers students the opportunity to use the latest equipment for media and transmedia production. Signing up for this service allows the student access to photographic, video, audio andvirtual reality equipment to produce prototypes of products throughout the programme.

International Interactive Experiences

Explore the vast world of International Media and Entertainment Business via our hands-on exploration of the landscape in world MEB landscapes. These experiences allow you to see how different cultures interact with and explore the creative industries.There is an extra cost associated with these experiences.

Exploring the world's content markets!

Throughout the year, various content markets explore the latest trends in digital media. These events are MUST-DOs for Media and Entertainment Business students. You can join other students and teachers as they attend, participate and share their experiences from these world trade fairs!
