Students are expected to follow all the lessons and activities of the courses. Absence to lessons or activities can lead to additional assignments or to the grade ‘insufficient’.
The evaluation of the internship in the school (or the educational organization) is based on the observation and reports from the mentor(s) and the coach (60%). The concrete content of the practice will be described immediately after the first days of observation in the school (or the organization). Students will be present all days as foreseen. The evaluation of the assignments in the digital portfolio (40%). The assignments in the digital portfolio will be available on canvas in the beginning of the course.
In our international class we focus on the 21st century skills
Teachers who are competent in foreign languages | Teachers who think creatively and are open-minded | Teachers who are flexible and team players | Teachers who are problem solvers and decision makers | Digital competent teachers for digital natives in schools | Teachers who are lifelong learners |In the different modules the students discover not only our campus, but also the surroundings.
They plan different excursions all over Belgium with a focus on education.
Furthermore, a full week in the Netherlands is part of the program since we focus on Europe and compare schools, school systems and learning outcomes. Apart from that students participate in online project work with students all over the world.
The International Class ‘More to explore’ unites incoming Erasmus+ students and Flemish students in teacher education. The students participate a 3 or 5 months English program, consisting of the modules ‘More to discover’, ‘More innovation in education’, ‘Survival Dutch’, ‘Digital learning design’, ‘More multilingual education’, ‘More diversity in education’ and ‘More practice’. Flemish students take the course ‘More practice outside Flanders’ instead of ‘More innovation in education’.
