LiCalab wins the 'Best Research Paper'-award at the Open Living Lab Days (OLLD) in Thessaloniki, Greece. Almost 40 living labs from around the world participated in this study about ‘Cross-cultural differences in living lab research’, a collaboration between LiCalab and Thomas More, led by colleague dr. Nele De Witte.

Colleagues Leen, Ingrid, Sascha and Vicky participated in the OpenLivingLabDays in Thessaloniki between 2nd and 5th September. OpenLivingLab Days (OLLD) is the annual gathering of the global Living Lab community. A space for public officials, companies, entrepreneurs, academics, living lab representatives and innovators to connect and work together: to create new products and services, to set the basis for debate and exploration of theories, and to address policy recommendations on the basis of open and user-driven innovation. Through interactive panel discussions, hands-on workshops with leading experts and site visits to local partners, OLLD offers an exclusive networking and knowledge sharing experience.

At the event, Leen and Sascha explored the ‘LiCalab-Empathy toolkit’ with workshop participants. This toolkit is a set of techniques to get to know your end user.  Also, we were very honoured to receive the award for ‘Best Research Paper’ at the event. Almost 40 living labs from around the world participated in this study about ‘Cross-cultural differences in living lab research’, a collaboration between LiCalab and Thomas More, led by colleague dr. Nele De Witte. Because understanding the differences and similarities allows to work with the right methodologies. Grateful for this recognition for our international collaborations to engage end users in health care innovation. We will continue to support companies and organisations to explore user needs and market requirements outside their home market.
