Through the XheaRt project, UC Leuven Limburg, VIVES and Thomas More want to combine their expertise to explore whether XR technology offers added value in patient education, with the focus on heart failure.
1. Bundling state-of-the art evidence-based and patient-centered application options of XR technology and translating them into an overview report, specifically for patient education.
2. Set up three proof-of-concepts (AR, VR and screen-based) in practice, aimed at education about heart failure.
3. Involving at least 6 (bachelor's and master's) students in the development of these 3 PoCs.
4. Draw up two roadmaps as practical tools with good practices and selection guides to apply the technology in practice.
5. Roll out the acquired knowledge to the broad target group via overview reports, articles, study days, presentations/guest lectures, demonstrations and a white paper. The project brings together knowledge, applies it and transfers it to the target group.
