Felien Laureys has been part of the People and Well-being research group since early 2023. She co-supports a project on violence and transgressive behaviour in (adult) athletes within the research line on transgressive behaviour.

About Felien

Felien Laureys holds a Master's degree in Sports and Movement Sciences, specialising in sports training and coaching (2017, UGent) and a Doctor of Health Sciences (2022, UGent). Her PhD framed within talent development in young children, in which she specifically focused on the development of the cognitive and psychological skills young, promising athletes need to eventually become a top athlete. Besides being a researcher, she is also an active coach herself within competitive sports.
In early 2023, she started as a researcher within the research line Prevention and Empowerment at Thomas More hogeschool. She co-supports a project on violence and transgressive behaviour among (adult) athletes, within the field of expertise of Tine Vertommen. Besides her work at Thomas More, she also conducts research within the same theme at Ghent University.
