Budget and Financial Well-being

PhD in Psychology. Researcher on the topics of Financial Wellbeing and Reference Budgets, REMI.

Ilse graduated as a psychologist at Ghent University and obtained her PhD there in 2009 with a thesis on the social psychology of justice. Ilse joined the team as a researcher in 2011 and is also a part-time lecturer in the Business Management and Social Work programmes. She works on topics of reference budgets, behaviour change and financial wellbeing. She developed a reference tool for above-minimum reference budgets, the budget comparator, based on household budget data.

In her free time, she likes traveling with the whole family, attending live music performances of past glories from the 1990s and relaxing at home with a good movie.
