Experienced researcher with a focus on decent income and financial well-being. Committed to promoting financial self-sufficiency and evidence-based support.
Ilse studied psychology at Ghent University, where she earned her PhD in 2009 with a dissertation on the social psychology of justice. She has been a researcher at CEBUD since 2011 and also teaches in the Business Management and Social Work programmes. Her work focuses on studies about reference budgets, behaviour change, and financial risk behaviour among young people. Using household budget data, she developed a reference tool for above-minimum reference budgets: the Budget Comparator.
In her spare time, she enjoys outings with her family, going to concerts by faded stars from the 1990s, and unwinding on the sofa with a good film.
