On 20 February 2024, the first Health & Wellbeing Living Lab Symposium took place in Brussels. It was organised by the Vitalise consortium and ENoLL, the European Network of Living Labs. With 86 registrations from 22 countries, this first edition was an immediate success.

On 31/3/24, the curtain falls on Vitalise. The aim of this project was to harmonise procedures and tools used in living lab research. A second aspect included opening up the consortium's 17 research infrastructures to the global research community. After three years of hard work, we are proud to showcase our achievements. During the preparations for the closing event, the idea arose to link it to a sustainable event. And so the end of Vitalise heralds the birth of the annual Health & Wellbeing Living Lab Symposium, a symposium focused on living lab research in the health and well-being domain.

The first Health & Wellbeing Living Lab Symposium took place on 20 February in Brussels. Part of the event was dedicated to showcasing the results of the Vitalise project. Among other things, we explained the studies and results from the joint research activities and the digital tools developed during the project. That Vitalise had an impact outside the consortium was proven by the 122 external researchers who collaborated with the various living labs through three open calls (Transnational Access). No fewer than 11 external researchers explained their research and cooperation with the Vitalise partners during the symposium. In the afternoon, researchers not directly involved in Vitalise activities presented their research.

LiCalab is proud to be part of the Vitalise consortium and would like to thank the other partners for the pleasant and constructive cooperation over the past years: European Network of Living Labs (Belgium), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), Laurea University of Applied Sciences (Finland), INTRAS Foundation (Spain), TREBAG Intellectual Property and Project Manager (Hungary), Association of Electronic and Information Technologies in the Basque Country (Spain), Vicomtech (Spain), Centre for Research and Technology-Hellas (Greece), Austrian Institute of Technology (Austria), Social IT (Italy), Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain), Wita (Italy), Anthology Ventures (Bulgaria), ViLabs (Greece), Forum des Living Labs en Santé et Autonomie (France), Eindhoven University of Technology (Netherlands), McGill University (Canada), Université dedMontréal(Canada).
