Hi, my name is Mª José Hernández, and I am Project Manager at INTRAS Foundation. INTRAS is a non-profit organization dedicated to high quality research and intervention in the field of Mental Health, Ageing and Disability, combining research, training, social and health care, neuro-psychological intervention, technological developments, therapeutic innovation and clinical practice.

I have more than 20 years of experience as a researcher and project manager, running functions in the complete cycle of research and development projects both nationally and internationally (from the conception of the idea, drafting of proposals and their management, execution, coordination and technical and administrative management of projects, until the capitalization of results and knowledge). I also have a background in technological surveillance and competitive intelligence, technology management (incorporation of new and existing technologies), technological feasibility studies, innovation consulting and quality systems management.

I connected with LiCalab as part of the Digital Health in a Circular Economy (DiCE). This project aims to address the issue of increasing digital health waste. The central objective of DiCE is to extend product lifetime as far as possible, focusing on testing and piloting solutions for a product’s end-of-life. The Living Labs (LiCalab and MindLab/INTRAS) are investigating to discern the preferences of citizens regarding the different methods of digital health devices collection and return, to deeply understand the habits and needs of end-users. This citizen engagement will motivate end-users in creating more sustainable behaviours, foster attitudinal shifts and drive meaningful change in the e-waste management. This involvement promotes a sense of responsible citizenship and supports transformative innovation. It is a pleasure to work together with the LiCalab team!
