VITALISE provides access to datasets for researchers in the field of health

The VITALISE project aims to harmonize procedures for living labs in the field of health and well-being. An important part of this is opening up research infrastructure. LiCalab will host 19 international researchers in the fall. In addition, the project will launch a Virtual Access tool in November: a tool that gives researchers access to datasets on health and active, healthy aging.

VITALISE brings together the three largest living lab networks in Europe: EnoLL, EITHealth and LLSA Forum. Together they are creating an ecosystem of living labs for health and well-being. VITALISE does this by enabling multidisciplinary researchers to work closely together in joint research activities, by providing transnational physical and virtual access to infrastructure, and by harmonizing living lab procedures and development of training methods.

One of the main objectives of the VITALISE project is to provide virtual access to data generated by different Living Labs (LL) in Europe. The datasets that VITALISE makes available to researchers fall under the categories: 'Active and healthy ageing' and 'Health in general'. They are mostly in .csv format and are GDPR compliant.

Requesting Access and Launching Virtual Access
Researchers can obtain virtual access through a registration process on the VITALISE Discovery Portal. This registration verifies that they meet the established eligibility criteria and asks for a brief description of the purpose, scope and objectives of their research project. More information on the criteria can be found at the bottom of this page.

To apply for admission, please visit this link. Virtual access to the datasets will become available in early November 2023 (official announcement to follow).

Open call

To further encourage researchers to explore the VA's potential, an Open Call is inviting users to submit an abstract of their research and experience utilizing the VITALISE VA-platform. The top submission will earn an invitation to present their work at the Health and Wellbeing Living Lab Symposium in Brussels on February 20th, accompanied by a travel grant covering all associated trip expenses.

"The VITALISE Virtual Access Service presents a unique opportunity for researchers to delve into our rich dataset collection and contribute to groundbreaking advancements in health and well-being research," emphasized Mr. Evdokimos Konstantinidis. "We eagerly welcome researchers worldwide to participate in this Open Call and embrace the boundless possibilities offered by this service."

The deadline for submitting an abstract for the Open Call is January 26, 2024. To learn more about the Virtual Access and participate in the Open Call, please visit this link.
