Solentra screening tool
Solentra vzw, which provides specialised mental health care to people with refugee backgrounds, developed an online screening tool together with researchers from the research line Psychology and technology and web and app developer Zenjoy that does away with time-consuming telephone consultations with social workers about registering their clients.
Solentra wanted to link an online decision aid to a previously developed e-learning platform. This flexible tool will support care providers in adequately assessing the (psycho-social) needs of refugees and the extent to which the offerings of Solentra (but also other actors) match these needs. This will both promote early detection and prevent overpsychiatrisation. This question was framed within an ongoing project funded by the AMIF.
The researchers from the research line Psychology and technology supported Solentra in concretising and listing the requirements and nice to have's of such an online decision aid. We also put Solentra in touch with candidate technology developers who could bring their vision to life and supported in the selection process of the suitable partner. This led to a partnership with Zenjoy who built the online decision aid, which is now being implemented in the practice.
